Declaración de Cartagena de 2019
El 29 de junio de 2019 se realizó la Primera Reunión de Ministros de Relaciones Exteriores de Colombia y de la Comunidad del Caribe, CARICOM, organismo del que hacen parte todos los Estados bajo responsabilidad de esta misión.
Durante esta reunión se renovó el interés de los Cancilleres de la región por fortalecer las relaciones y trabajar conjuntamente en diferentes áreas de interés para todos los Estados, tales como cooperación sur-sur, relaciones económicas y comerciales, transporte, cultura, educación, deporte, medio ambiente, energías renovables, agricultura y desarrollo agroindustrial, cambio climático, la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible, gestión y recuperación del riesgo de desastres, entre otras.
Como resultado, los Cancilleres suscribieron la Declaración de Cartagena:

Bilateral relations
Diplomatic relations between Colombia and Trinidad and Tobago were established on February 22, 1968. The Embassy was closed for strictly budgetary reasons in 2002, for 10 years.
With a view to strengthening Colombia's relations with the non-Spanish-speaking Caribbean, the national government requested and obtained authorization from the Government of Trinidad and Tobago in January 2012 to reopen a resident mission in Port of Spain, at the Embassy level.
In relation to the other States under the responsibility of this embassy, the beginning of diplomatic relations with Colombia was as follows:
Barbados: February 1, 1972
Granada: January 9, 1981
Guyana: December 18, 1970
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines: March 17, 1981
Suriname: June 24, 1978
The Cartagena Declaration of 2019
On June 29, 2019, the First Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Colombia and the Caribbean Community, CARICOM, was held, an organization of which all the States under the responsibility of this mission are a part.
During this meeting, the interest of the Foreign Ministers of the region was renewed to strengthen relations and work together in different areas of interest to all States, such as South-South cooperation, economic and commercial relations, transportation, culture, education, sports, environment, renewable energy, agriculture and agro-industrial development, climate change, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, disaster risk management and recovery, among others.
As a result, the Foreign Ministers signed the Cartagena Declaration:
