Puerto España, Trinidad y Tobago. 20 de agosto de 2025. Su Excelencia William Bush Howard, Embajador de la República de Colombia en Trinidad y Tobago, asistió a una reunión de cortesía con el Honorable Senador Dominic Smith, Ministro de Administración Pública e Inteligencia Artificial, el miércoles 20 de agosto de 2025, que se celebró en la sede del Ministerio.

Esta reunión brindó al Embajador Bush la oportunidad de reafirmar el compromiso del Gobierno de la República de Colombia con la inteligencia artificial para el año 2025 y más allá. Además, Su Excelencia informó al Honorable Ministro sobre una visita, facilitada por la Embajada de Colombia, del Sr. Mauro Miyake, representante de Google Cloud para América Latina, que tuvo lugar en julio de 2025. Sr. Miyake visitó la República de Trinidad y Tobago con la intención de buscar oportunidades de colaboración en el campo de la inteligencia artificial en Trinidad, y se centró especialmente en las áreas de educación, salud, defensa y gobernanza. Esta misma delegación, encabezada por el Sr. Miyake, tiene la intención de visitar Trinidad y Tobago de nuevo en la segunda mitad de 2025, para retomar algunas ideas que habrían discutido previamente y alcanzar nuevos acuerdos entre Google Cloud y Trinidad y Tobago. El Embajador Bush también aprovechó esta oportunidad para invitar al Honorable Ministro a visitar las ciudades de Cartagena de Indias o Medellín en 2026 con el fin de establecer colaboraciones entre el Ministerio de Administración Pública e Inteligencia Artificial de Trinidad y el Ministerio de Tecnología de la Información y las Comunicaciones de Colombia.

Por fin, Su Excelencia y el Honorable Ministro discutieron la posibilidad de organizar un Google Day en Trinidad y Tobago en 2026, así como la oferta de Colombia de brindar apoyo en los ámbitos del desarrollo empresarial digital y la formación de funcionarios públicos.

His Excellency William Bush Howard, Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to Trinidad and Tobago, attended a courtesy meeting with Senator the Honourable Dominic Smith, Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence, on Wednesday 20th August, 2025, which was held at the Ministry’s headquarters.

This meeting provided the opportunity for Ambassador Bush to affirm the commitment of the Government of the Republic of Colombia towards Artificial Intelligence for the year 2025 and beyond. Furthermore, His Excellency informed the Honourable Minister about a visit, facilitated by the Embassy of Colombia, by Mr. Mauro Miyake, a Representative of Google Cloud for Latin America, which took place in July 2025. Mr. Miyake visited the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago with the intention of seeking opportunities to collaborate within the field of Artificial Intelligence in Trinidad, and further focused on the areas of education, health, defence and governance. This same delegation, headed by Mr. Miyake, intends to visit Trinidad and Tobago again in the latter half of 2025, to revisit some ideas they would have previously discussed and further agreements between Google Cloud and Trinidad and Tobago. Ambassador Bush also took this opportunity to invite the Honourable Minister to visit the cities of Cartagena de Indias or Medellín in 2026 to establish collaborations between the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence in Trinidad and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology in Colombia.

Finally, His Excellency and the Honourable Minister discussed the possibility of hosting a Google Day in Trinidad and Tobago in 2026, as well as Colombia offering support in the fields of digital business development and training for Public Officers.
